The Garden Classroom visits
The Garden Classroom – King Henry’s Walk, Islington
• Pizza Plot session and
• Bread, Butter and Jam session
On the 2nd and 8th of October, students from The Courtyard experienced creating dough from scratch to make pizza or bread in the beautiful setting of King Henry’s Walk in Islington.
We were invited to explore the gardens and identify the myriad of plants, flowers, herbs, fruit and vegetables being grown there by members of the community.
We then picked our own herbs to add to our pizza toppings or mashed up strawberries to make jam, but the greatest act of wizardry surely had to be shaking double cream until it made butter!
All students and staff thoroughly enjoyed being outside amongst nature and even got to see the honey bees at work in their hive.
