Maximising Progress
SMMA: The Courtyard measures student progress against the individual student outcomes documented in their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Within Section E of the student’s EHCP, a number of outcomes are documented dependent on the needs and potential of the individual student. Commonly, outcomes will drive progress towards achievement in the following areas:
- Cognition and learning
- Communication and Interaction – socially and emotionally
- Health and Well-being
- Independence
The Courtyard takes a collective responsibility of supporting and enabling progress in all of these outcome areas. We work together as a staff team, alongside external agencies and parents, to upskill students to achieve their maximum individual potential.
The Leadership Team have ultimate responsibility for tracking and monitoring students’ progress against their EHCP outcomes. The team gather information from the Teaching and Learning (T&L) Team and the Pastoral Team to determine the level of progress that is being made. Interventions are implemented to support/stretch and challenge students further.
