Alumni achievements

Billy Chandler is a member of the Courtyard Alumni. He studied at the Courtyard from September 2013 to July 2015. During his time at the Courtyard, he studied and successfully achieved a Grade C in A Level Performing Arts. Billy is a regular visitor at the Courtyard to this day, coming back to share his stories and experiences of college with current Courtyard pupils and staff.

We have always wished the very best for Billy and were delighted to hear of his continued success at college. Please read Billy's report below of his time studying Drama with City and Islington college.

The award was The HE Student of the Year Award, one of many awards at the yearly Centre for Business, Arts and Technology (CBAT) Student Awards, I was originally nominated by my tutor and found out in a letter on June 21st that I won the award. On July 3rd I proudly accepted the award from my tutor. For the reasons why I was nominated and eventually won the award was because of my consistent progress in the course, being a team player and using all direction and advice to develop my skills, knowledge and experience. I have the best attendance in the class, excellent punctuality and always submitted my work on time. I am always supportive of staff and students and am generous, humorous and warm-hearted. I have recently been invaluable in helping out Front of House / Box Office for the Performing Arts Summer Season shows at their theatre with excellent customer service skills. I have High Functioning Autism and despite this challenge I have progressed brilliantly and with absolute dedication to my career aim of becoming a professional actor. According to my tutor I am expected to earn a distinction.
