Independence Group Trip to Kings Cross

On 23rd April, the Independence Group travelled to Kings Cross as part of their Summer Term unit focus on community travel.

All pupils practised using their communication skills; understanding who to speak to for information, knowing what to say, and using the Tube safely and confidently especially in times of Covid.

Miss Lucas with the support of Miss Barton, Ella, Eirenie and Kit ensured this was organised in a fun and engaging way, so pupils were sent on a scavenger hunt to find:

- a ticket top up machine

- an information desk

- a transport officer

- a security guard

- Platform 9 and 3/4

- Longboys donut shop at Coals Drops Yard outside the station

A huge bonus on arrival to Kings Cross was that there were no crowds and no queue to Platform 9 and 3/4. Staff and the Harry Potter experience were more than happy to let our pupils experiment with their assortment on wands and a magical time was had by all.

The donuts from Longboys were also something special and staff at school were treated to tasters of a selection of their amazing donuts.
