Significant Change Application

St Mary Magdalene Academy: The Courtyard, is consulting on its proposal to increase its Published Admission Number (PAN) from 48 to 72 over the next four years. The increase will be gradual, welcoming an additional 6 students each year. The increased student number will be accommodated by expanding our rental space at St David’s Church on Westbourne Road.

The site at St David’s Church will see significant renovations and acquisition of outside space. This will provide the students located at St David’s for lessons with an open plan communal area, quiet space for self-regulation and a gardened courtyard area.

Acquisition of additional classrooms allows the school to improve the main site also. During the Summer holidays, the kitchen area will be refurbished to accommodate four cooking stations, enhancing our Food Technology teaching. We also have plans to convert one of the classrooms at the Courtyard into a Science lab. These changes to the main site will not be possible without increasing the number of classrooms we lease at St David’s .

Design drawings of these changes will be available for you to view shortly.

This is in line with our vision to offer an outstanding educational and social provision that will equip our pupils with the skills and experiences needed to discover and live out their potential.

We shall be offering opportunities to engage with us through a wide variety of means, including a face to face meeting on Tuesday 24th May from 4pm – 5pm and the various options listed below.
