End of Year Art Exhibition

From 1st July - 7th July 2019 The Courtyard pupils had the opportunity to exhibit and sell their artwork in a Central London Art Gallery - The Old Diorama Arts Centre.

Pupils spent weeks preparing for this by using paint and other mediums to create a piece of art based on the theme of 'unveiled connections' which tied into the PAIL curriculum of The Self/Relationships, Communication, and Our World.

Pupils had the option of putting their work up for sale at £20. The money generated from the sales of the artwork went to the pupils who created the art, which was a fantastic boost to their self-esteem. 13 pieces were sold during this exhibition to both family and friends, and members of the general public.

The exhibition was a great way to celebrate the creative talent of The Courtyard pupils. This was an opportunity for them to showcase their art to the public and get a true understanding of what it is like to be an exhibiting artist. Some pupils were involved in the installation of the exhibition and gained knowledge in gallery curation.

The exhibition truly helped boost the morale and self-confidence of pupils whilst also giving them an insight into how they can progress into a career in art after they have finished school.
