Coding Workshop at The Microsoft Store
On the 9th of January students from the Courtyard went in two groups to the infamous Microsoft store in Oxford Circus. The first group were lucky enough to receive a coding workshop, conducted by industry professionals. Pupils were taught to use Java script to create a basic arcade video game with codes. There was a tremendous amount of creativity shown during this session with an opportunity to implement skills learnt within various lessons at school. The second group of pupils had a chance to use the gaming room in the shop where they tried different video and interactive games. At the end of the day both groups had the opportunity to drive a real Formula 1 car hooked to an XBox. Students drove on a racetrack which the race car was simulated realistically! Overall, the day was exhilarating and educational.
