Head’s Welcome
Positive words, positive actions.
Welcome to the Courtyard, a specialist ASC provision for students aged 13-19, where students grow in confidence, develop to become independent adults and become happy and vibrant individuals.
The school is described as an oasis of calm, situated in St Mary Magdalene Church gardens, close to the hustle and bustle of Highbury and Islington. By maintaining an atmosphere of calmness and positivity, my staff can support, guide and advise our students to make progress towards achieving their potential, academically, socially and emotionally.
We work closely with all stakeholders, students, parents, governors, local authorities and external professionals, to provide the best possible provision and enable our students to learn, thrive and achieve.
We provide a personalised curriculum for up to 72 students, aged 13-19. Each student who attends the school follows an individual curriculum depending on a number of factors, which include academic ability, social and communication skills and strengths.
We are also able to offer a therapeutic element to the curriculum, through our links with CAMHS, the Local Authority Educational Psychology and Speech and Language teams, the Islington Learning Disability Partnership and our on-site art therapy service. All students are provided with a keyworker to oversee all their pastoral needs.
I am incredibly proud of this wonderful school and all of the members that create this fantastic, supportive community. Please take a look through our website to find out more about us. Read about the student’s achievements, our school celebrations and hear from all stakeholders about how important the Courtyard is to them.
